Upstream Connectivity Event Overnight

Summary of events
Early Friday morning (around 2:00am) monitoring showed upstream connectivity issues. Followup here notes that an Emergency Change took place at this time. A primary node in an upstream provider's network had to be rebooted to recover a memory issue which had been observed. The nature of the situation meant a decision had to be taken, hence an Emergency Change action. Our apologies for any disruption this may have caused.
The reboot action had a ripple effect on network traffic and routing processes. It took approximately 10 minutes for everything to recover and network staff continued to keep watch over network operations.
