Summary of events

Around 2:35am we became aware of multiple connections dropping offline. During investigation services appear to have returned. A sweep of our network realm and various points beyond show everything to be up and running.

Once more folks are awake we will update this page with further details.

Further Details

Added 11:00am  Checking has revealed the outage was in fact planned maintenance being done upstream from us. The changes affected several providers on the Chorus fibre network as work was performed on a common piece of network.

A notification process did advise of the upcoming work. We have added to this to ensure it is more widely distributed. Any future maintenance work of this type will also be notified by our usual channels such as here, Message Of The Day and Home Page notifications.

Our apologies to those affected. The event did exercise our processes, resulting in an early morning call-out to investigate. It serves to prove those aspects worked as intended.
