Service Event - 11:05pm Wednesday 25 March - Thursday 11:00am, Resolved

A network outage occurred on Wednesday evening which affected a number of fibre connections. Many have returned online. However, a handful are still down. We are working to restore service for all connections.

We will update information here as progress and status changes. 

The Event Details so far

Wednesday 25th 11:05  Numerous connections dropped offline.
11:15pm A number of the connections returned online. Monitoring showed some were still offline

Thursday 26 March 2:00am Event escalated to other parties as event appears to be outside of our network core.
6:30am Additional systems testing performed to prove operation, proved as working
8:15am Some more connections have returned online
9:00am Network staff diagnosing further at a site. We are testing parts which make up the service to isolate the area which is broken. Will notify once we know more.
9:30am Troubleshooting has helped isolate cause and effect. Trying a sequence onsite to recover connection. Site is online.
10:30am Further sites visited and recovery process appears to work.

Recovery process appears to be 
- Turn off Chorus ONT 
- Wait five(!) minutes, you must wait
- Turn ONT back on
- Service should return at that point.

We don't normally recommend this course of action, but in this case it appears to be recovering the connection.

11:00 Remaining visits we can conduct have been completed.
A review of the events will take place and we will post a conclusion here.
Meantime any changes or further updates will be noted here..
