Lights went out, but not us

What Happened

Supply power to IDC went out just after 9:30pm, returning 10:12pm.

Plans in Place

A bunch of things happened as planned. The server room is protected by UPS, so everything kept running as the onsite generator kicked in. Electricity supply for the room then shifted over to Generator.

It looks like a hunk of Mosgiel went out. We saw customer sites drop offline as well. Once mains supply returned the power systems changed back across. Everything continued on, with the automated systems performing as intended.

Behind the scenes a whole lot of alerting took place as well. We also review things to see if there were any issues. Turns out there was - one aspect didn't go 100% as planned. It didn't directly affect anyone, but has been fixed, ready for next time.
